Hey, hey!  Don't let us poor PPC folks hold you back.  If you want to
upgrade go ahead. I don't think a lot of PPC users are using alsa, and the
beta versions have actually improved PPC support inmost cases.  We hit the
problem before when I wanted to use beta for PPC in the same kernel that
x86 was using stable.
