Yeah! *5 zillion mad penguins step out from behind* Seriously, I used to support Slowlaris and IRIX at high-end customers (as a SUN/SGI Value added Reseller) and I can say Sun hardware is awesomely reliable (but not very fast BTW) and well engineered, but Solaris is another story ... I admit it is a very good implementation of a modern Unix OS, but that ends right there at the kernel ... The Solaris distribution is just awful ... it would take me about a weeks worth of downloading and compiling to get a default Solaris installation to where a default Linux distro is in terms of tools and environment comfort. I just hated whenever I had to left the comfort of my Linux systems to go work at a default 2.5.1 box in a data center some where! ===== ________________________ Eugenio Diaz, BSEE/BSCE Linux Engineer [EMAIL PROTECTED] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
