yes it is. There's nothing that you can do about that unfortunately ...

This is due to past stupidity that someone put something like (let's say)

1.2.3pre1

then 1.2.3 comes out and won't upgrade due to comparision methods by the
computer, 1.2.3pre1 > 1.2.3.

So there is a "hack", you can use Epoch to get around it. But once it's there,
it's there. The next time you do another stupidity, you increase the Epoch
tag.

Epoch is evil in most cases, only use as prescribed.
