Yesterday I updated stock 8.1 with current updates. Being lazy I just
went into directory and did rpm -Fvh *. To my surprise it correctly
updated kernel *and* it correctly set up lilo entries *and* even run
lilo so after reboot new kernel was up and running without any manual
intervention.

Was something changed in installkernel, rpm or kernel.spec recently? Or
is there some bug in rpm that rpm -F works differently from rpm -U?
