This happens when you don't have the rights to run /usr/sbin/fileshareset.

Let me explain (not only for you, i don't quite understand at which moment
things went wrong for you):

- fileshareset is setuid and enables a user to export his directories IF root
allowed it. To allow fileshare'ing, you can use diskdrake, nfs or smb, click
on Export. Or simply edit /etc/security/fileshare.conf and put RESTRICT=no

- when you're allowed to fileshareset, you can use konqueror/nautilus
interface to call it.

this is the opposite of fileshare stuff. It's still done in diskdrake (like it
is in mdk 8.1) until kde/gnome have a nice interface for this. At that time,
we'll surely add another setuid somewhere to allow users to mount remote
shares.

booh. Anyway, it seems i have a few pb with smbclient at the moment.
Try nfs ;p

Or please, try to understand why the simple "smbclient -L ..." doesn't
terminate ?

now that you have RESTRICT=no, you should be able to use the Sharing tab in
properties...
