And it contains:
[root@teich sandra]# cat /etc/pam.d/passwd

auth required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so shadow nullok
account required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so
password required /lib/security/pam_cracklib.so retry=3
password required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so use_authtok nullok shadow md5
As you can see, md5 is there!
Oh...
[root@teich sandra]# rpm -V passwd
S.5....T c /etc/pam.d/passwd
Seems like I have modified the file... Can't remember that I did (which
doesn't mean anything *G*).
Yep, just checked. The original passwd file doesn't contain the md5
option.
