Tried to do a PCMCIA update tonight, and the image is broken.
Boots ok, but comes up with the same message, even if there is
no PCMCIA network card in the socket, so I'm pretty sure it's NOT that
it's
recognising the card wrong.
Computer is a Gateway Solo 9100, network card is a Linksys
EtherFast 10/100 (NE2000 equiv.)
Message on screen "About to load driver for network device
Cirrus Logic|PD6832
click ok, next message "Warning - installation of driver failed"
Messages on <alt> <F3> are:
Cardmgr rc: 0
Total mem 256 MBytes
PCI: device 1013 1110 is "Cirrus Logic|PD6832 (i82365)"
have to insmod i82365
needs 82365
init_module failed i82365
unsetting auto no such device (can't read my writing - but this is
close to what it said)
NET: was expecting another network interface.
(broken net module?)
