I wonder if it would be possible to make a new logrotate package update that 
only "patches" the /etc/logrotate.conf file like this:

perl -p -i -e "s|^errors root|#the \"errors root\" directory is obsolete|g" \
/etc/logrotate.conf

And increments the package version but don't actually removes or updates any 
files except the above line..., hmm..., interesting idea...
