Hi VERSION: (rsync ftp.uninett.no) /ChangeLog/1.620/Wed Jan 9 13:32:52 2002// Mandrake Linux Cooker-i586 20020109 22:04
I used the new possibility to update in expert via hd.img. Earlier to day I had tried the same thing, and had opted for all the same packages I use for a test, i.e. all packages in the left row + all windowmanagers + server -> that resulted in a an error message that the partition did not have room for that many packages. This time, somewhat frightened, I did not touch any of the packages, and was informed that 20 MB out of some 1400 MB was to be updated. I did not check it in 'individual packages' but it had suddenly deminished to 6 MB. I would prefer that prior to a check of packages to update, that I as a user could be able to choose which packages I wanted to have. And that the update-check was run after that. Then the select packages has a meaning. The network was found with its original values. My local printer was set as a 'lan printer' but after checking that button I got my old printer as default. I opted to have the information to be printed about other ways to print but nothing happened. gpm was not set in services so I had to do it again - came up nice. mcc - OK, I checked services and found gpm and portmap running but the on boot buttons were not checked. My BastilleChooser installation was gone according to my understanding. Nice evolution. guran -- Mandrake Linux 8.2 Cooker kernel-2.4.17.2mdk-1-1mdk version:2002-01-08-11:49 updated to version:2002-01-09-22:04
