Hi,
I updated my 8.1 distro with the cooker distro on CD in upgrade mode.
Quite all ran fine but some things:

1- I got a message during XFree update signaling an error and since then I
can only log as root with kde.
If I try to log as user I get a message saying the dcopserver is not
started and it can't access the /home/myself/.DCSPServer_localhost
file:localdomain_:0
even this file is here.
How could I do to correct this ?

2- Before upgrading, I had 2 kernels installed the basic 2.4.8 from mdk 8.1
and a cooker version 2.4.16.3, and lilo pointed to the files instead the
symplinks
ie: linux2.4.8mdk and linux2.4.16-3mdk, not to the linux symlink, so
whatever is done on the symlink, the boot works.
The update broke the /boot files and couldn't setup the new entry. I had to
boot with the old kernel and hack lilo.conf by hand.

3- When lanching a console, I get a message saying that some fnt is
anavailable.

4- The software manager just starts then vanishes after during the lists
building.

5- Please avoid the message that there is not enougth space on disk for
upgrade mode if one click on the packages families.
Just disable the choices. It's a little bit confusing between install
and upgrade. In my mind, upgrade is UPGRADE WHAT IS ALREADY INSTALLED
not adding some packages. Installing more packages should be available by
the software installer.

Thanks for help to get all things working.
