Hi!

Kernel 2.4.17.5mdk basically runs. While getting it to run I noted
the following things:

- When I use ide-disk as a module but the ide itself, I get a kernel
oops (also happens with 2.4.16.2mdk) after loading ide-disk module:

Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000
  printing eip:
  *pde=00000000
Oooops: 0002
CPU: 0
EIP: 0010: [<c01156ea>] Not tainted
EFLAGS: 00010092

... (Register)

Process insmod (pid: ..., stackpage ...)
stack: ...
Call trace: ...
ERROR: /bin/insmod exited abnormally

- I didn't find a module configuration where ide-mod.o, ide-probe-mod.o
and ide-disk.o were modules and ide.o is in the kernel. According to
mkinitrd this should be possible else mkinitrd is really buggy...
(if ide.o is a module, mkinitrd does not include it in the module list)

I'll try the new mkinitrd (18mdk) as soon as it appears on the mirrors.

With best regards,
