After upgrading my cooker on Friday, which included the -12mdk msec, nonfb boot stops at 'loading compose keys: compose.latin1.inc' for both kernel 2.4.17.2mdk and .6mdk. I did rpm -U --replacefiles XFree86-compat-libs to get past a conflict with XFree86-libs to get the upgrade to roll. Both packages verify OK. The file, compose.latin1.inc.gz is the same size and, IIRC, date as that from 8.1. Verify for initscripts shows the mode to be changed to 700 for all the scripts in init.d.
What I have tried: 1) chmod 755 all the scripts in init.d 2) downgrade to msec from 8.1 and back up to -12mdk 3) Another upgrade on Saturday, which included the new console-tools 4) do msec 3 (my initial security level) No dice. In other news, drakfont has a nice new artwork but the icon in mcc > services seems to be still dead. Thanks.
