My usual "Yet Another Installation Report".
I started from 8.2-beta1 CDs and the I upgraded to today's Cooker.

**General consideration**
Linux is reaching the perfection with your distribution! :o)k

Installer is almost perfect in "expert" mode, and there are just some minor
bugs I found till now (12 hours of usage, not too much to find out
everything!)... So, here we are!

DURING INSTALLATION

- Ramsize (256MB found) = nopentiums ??!?!?!?! So installer asks for
"precise ramsize" to go on, even if it really finds out the correct amount.
Quite strange!

- XFree. Chose between 3.3.6 and 4.1.0 but "rpm -qa |grep XFree" reports many
4.2.0 packages. It's strange too, but it works!

- Networking. Domain is setted to localdomain event if I gave my fully
qualified name "monster.roma2.infn.it"  --> "monstar / localdomain".

POST INSTALLATION

- Sourcing /etc/bashrc report an error: there's a read-only variable!!!

- "What to do" men is missing main icon and the first entry is ".hidden" (?)

- Sound is not configured, I had to install sndconfig to hear a sound from my
Creative Vibra 16pnp

- Sound in KDE won't work correctly. Sound server complains about a "busy
device" just since the first login after a reboot. It's quite random,
sometimes it works, sometimes it does not...

- Running lilo report some warnings, like "don't support menu-scheme"...

- KUPS --> configure CUPS --> error opening config file...

- rpmdrake --> new-source --> Cooker --> update-list of the mirror ==>
segfault!

Well, that's all at the moment! :-)
