Second times those days I upgrade system, and second times, that's all
other applications are killed by the sytem because of a miss of memory
(my system has one Gib of memory with the swap...)...
First time, I hadden't checked why, but this time yes... even if that
was quiete hard with a so slow system...
The problem what that pwconv (or grpconv, I don't remember...) was
looping :-(
And it was because of grpck (and pwck) not beeing run before the other
one, and I got a problem in my group definition: an empty group (why: no
idea at all ???).
So I did it by hand and corrected the group definition, and the
installation of setup run in less than 30 seconds...
What I would consider a good things would be to make a single test in
the rpm scripts to check integrity of the passwd and group definition
before running pwconv and grpconv ;-)
But that was great for me: I didn't know how to convert one of our
machine to traditionnal password rather than shadow (because HP-UX and
OS X don't support shadow...).
