sorry if this is too much off topic, but i really need to know this because i'm creating an application which helps beginners to install applicationpackages (for example: a DVD app package which than includes: xine, ogle, vlc, creates /dev/dvd symlink, modify /etc/ld.so.conf, ...)
is there a kind of standard/rules for creating ''startmenu'' entries by command line tools in mandrake? and is there a kind of standard for the other distributions? thanks, raphael
