Sorry I was not clear.
After updating my system to the latest cooker, which includes urpmi-3.2-7.
When using mcc to create a boot disk If supermount is enabled you get the 256 error.
If supermount is Disabled mkbootdisk performs without problem.
This had been corrected in the previous version of urpmi but is back in 
the current version.
