I second this. I know for a fact that the heavy duty disk access caused by slocate at boot disappoints a lot of users who decide to give Linux a try. Sure, slocating the entire hard drive is probably useful, but perhaps more users would find it useful if the disk thrashing stopped? Regards, Mattias
