I'm gettig almost the same with an es1370 sound card - sometimes I get the startup sound but the error banner saying /dev/dsp busy. In all cases, killall /usr/bin/artsd and then start it manually gets the sound going so the modules are being loaded OK, maybe the mixer is getting the raw alsa devices before artsd? -- Robin Internet: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://gb7ipd.dnsalias.net/ Anorak mode = Shack: (+44) 1628 533311 Fax: (+44) 8700 516573 Club pages (g4xyw modem etc) at http://www.tvipug.org
