[Didn't get any response to the first try]

Looking at the Mandrake 8.1 ISOs, there are two text files in the root of the
first CD, named LICENSE.txt and LICENSE-APPS.txt; they were apparently
written with a 2 CD set in mind since -APPS refers to ``the next CD''. This
may cause our LUG a problem.

We're trying to talk the local libraries into distributing Linux CDs
within their system, including Mandrake Linux. They're aghast at the concept
of something (software, yet!) that can actually be copied for free. Their
standard terms of use tell the user to delete anything from their hard disk
that the loan CD installs before returning it. The -APPS file makes it look
like only the first CD can be distributed for free.

Can the 8.2 CD set please *not* have a LICENSE-APPS.txt file except maybe on
the last CD, and can that file please at least list the specific non-GPL
licences involved and the specific packages impacted?

Also, can Mandrake please add a page to their website that can be instantly
referred to in cases like this, stating that the download versions of
Mandrake really are freely copyable and distributable, but that some non-GPL
software on the final disk may in some cases not be disassembled or
reverse-engineered?

Cheers; Leon
