Hi, This new version of etc-update copies the permissions of the original file to merged result.
I just descovered that the rc.sysinit permissions became 644 after a etc-update run and that was a good excersise with using "linux init=/bin/sh" at the bootprompt. :) http://www.xs4all.nl/~hanb/software/etc-update-20020214.tbz For people who have missed the original mail. etc-update searches for .rpmnew files in /etc. It is quitte important for cooker-people to keep their /etc up to date.
