I have a FIC PA2012 motherboard. It has refused to install every version of
Mandrake since 7.2 (It hangs during the process of loading the image before
really asking any of the install questions)

I looked at some of the detailed messages and it looked like it failed
(slowly) trying to read cluster after cluster from the CD. I was able to
install Red Hat 7.2 on it without any problems.

I really want to use it as a server on the internet. (It is hooked to a
friends DSL connection since I am unable to get DSL / Cable modem.)

I had already updated the BIOS during previous attempts to install a newer
Mandrake and checked the FIC site to make sure it still had the latest
available BIOS.

(Uses VIA chipset) Is there any hope for it or do I just have to figure that
Mandrake will never install on it again....????
