However... According to abiword_and_unix_fonts.zabw (meant to succeed UnixFonts.txt) this could be done easily on a per-distro basis, either as a patch or more likely as a postinst script (for rpm). I would work this stuff out myself if I had a mandrake box to work on. The same document also describes ways (which i personally would choose to script) to add other fonts (presumably those already present in the distro) to abi's accessible list. I recall someone on cooker list complaining about that.
