Has any consideration been made for something similar to the environment-modules package that Suse has (appears to be based on Sun's package).

Subject: RE: Fwd: Looking for environment-modules package for Mandrake 8.1
Hello Todd,
The module commands for SuSe linux set up
environment variables such as MANPATH. You add
to your variables with a command such as
"module load tools" and remove it from your path
using a "module unload tools" command. It is a minor
tool but was part of our Sun environment and as it
is part of SuSe linux we want to pull it in. If Mandrake
8.2 does end up adding this in, please let me know. If
not, we will have to grab the package from a SuSe linux
cd and hope it works on Mandrake.
Thanks for your help,
Mark
