No: this is a known problem: just look at linux-kernel mailing list...
The maintenair has said to resubmit a patch this weekend.
I got some computer which works just perfect with the new aic7xxx, and
some other that's don't... for those you could use the old aic7xxx or
wait for the patch ;-)
