'aloo,
After switching from mandrake cooker (actually beta 2 with cooker
updates) to redhat 7.2 with the latest ximian updates, etc, I have moved
back to mandrake (now beta3, though). You guys rock. mandrake in my
opinion is 100% better.

Anyway, here are my notes on the install/post-install:

1) install was flawless.
2) post-install: using diskdrake to add a mount for an smb share,
diskdrake doesnt put the username password in fstab correct. i.e. I set
it up with the username of 'joe' with a password of 'blow'. diskdrake
wrote it in fstab as 'username=blow, password=joe'. just a little
backwards.

3) after using diskdrake to make the mount (and before editing fstab to
make it correct) I tried to mount the share and got this error:

tdb((null): tdb_open_ex: could not open file
/var/cache/samba/unexpected.tdb no such file or directory

4) gaim: I noticed in ximian's version (.43) of gaim, there is a
'gaim_applet' that is missing from mandrakes 5.1 version. Reading the
README from gaim, it seems that mandrakes version isnt compiled with
--enable-panel. Is it possible to get it repackages as such? Also,
the older version of gaim will save offline messages and then give them to
me when I sign on.

Other than those 4 things, beta3 is awesome.

Thanks for all the hard work.

David
