ACPI is bad.

ACPI is a bad intent for part of Microsoft + Intel of getting the BIOS
back on the middle of operations, i.e. you can't talk with the
hardware, you can only talk with ACPI, and ACPI _could_ do things like
send information over the network and things like that.
(notice the _could_ part).
ACPI is not enabled in the current kernel (linux implementation is
quite inmature yet).
