Do you have the mount tab in the auto_auto map?  And does 
'ls /auto/<keyname>' work?  If all that is good (and it was for me out
of the box), then all you have to do is make the links into /auto, ie:
'ln -s /auto/sol-00 /home/sol-00' for my own home directory.

Can you manually mount the filesystem?  If not, go through all the
normal NFS debugging stuff with showmount, rpcinfo, etc.
