Crazy enough, the install worked using the hd.img after creating ISOs on the system. I have no clue why network.img would be any different though? All I can tell is that it fails right before it starts probing for serial ports. I will play around with this some more and see if I can find more information. I hope I can find an answer somewhere because we've got thousands of these PCs in IBM and probably hundreds of people using Mandrake already (and hopefully more in the future :).
