I just tested Beta3 on a Compaq DL360. It sees all partitions with no
problems, so I can verify that. Bonus, this machine used to have
problems with a kernel panic unless I passed the correct mem=xxxM option
to it. Now the 8.2 B3 boots with no problems.

My test case was a mixture of Reiser, ext3, and LVM.

My test box currently only has 2 primary partitions and several LVM
partitions. I'll redo it with a lot of partitions and see if I can
duplicate this.
