wish (not for 82:-) I would like linux to boot faster. Could one do something in parallel, a bit like fsck where you for each service you launch then spacify at which stage this can be done, and wheteher it can be done in parallel? Is there much to gain with parallal processing? One should think so, as programs could be loaded from disk and executed at the same time. I think what is now done is that only one program is run in sequence. Probably one could speed it up by a factor of 2.
