If you use "startx" instead of using the graphic login it does the same
thing the first time you start X it asks what you want to start I select
gnome and it boots fine. But then I exit X and start it again it goes
into KDE.

I have to go edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop and type "GNOME" on the first
line (note not "desktop=GNOME" which cause it to use twm) for it to load
Gnome.
