Instalation:
Everything went smooth. I did the expert instalation, with the portuguese
language selection. That gave some wierd results because just some of the
strings in the installer are in portuguese, but no major problem.
In the screen that ask's for the partitions to format, if i choose advanced i
get some fonts with very bad colors (same problem of lilo).
One thing that i find strange is that in the package selection, tree view,
some packages are repeated, for example, the Xfree packages under the
diferente desktops. For me this is not correct, it just makes the tree bigger.
With almost all options (in the type of machine, i can't remember the exact
name of the screen) enabled for packages instalation some basic packages
aren't selected, like joe, jed, gkrell.
Printer was detected and installed, mouse, sound card (Live!), network, and
tvcard also.
X was also installed and configured fine.

After instalation:
IMHO that the new look of the boot process is quite ugly. I didn't found an
option in drakboot for changing it, but i didn't search much. (is it in the
kernel?) Did someone saw the boot process in a 19" monitor? the colors are
too bright, it hurts the eyes. Same with lilo. The old scheme (8.1) was
nicer. The scheme sould darker (like XP), bright colors at low resolution
look terrible.
I miss the login penguin, it's one of things that identifies mandrake linux,
it should be instaled by default, IMHO.
I instaled the nvidia drivers, they work fine, but the kernel module has to
be loaded by hand at every boot. Some line in /etc/modules.conf? Opengl is ok.
Kde didn't start at first try. I had to delete the .Dcop* links, after that
worked ok. I did the .ISO-8859-15 trick in /etc/sysconfig/i18n and i got the
euro working fine in kde. No such luck with gnome, something about the fonts
i think.
The icons in the kde desktop are a little bit out of order. The menus are ok.
In gnome, the gtk theme selector, the them preview sometimes stops working if
i browse through the themes, but i couldn't reproduce the problem.

Now two things that didn't work:
-Network browsing: shouldn't this be working out of box? lisa and relisa
aren't started at boot. I started them manually and still didn't work, i
could see the samba folders on the local machine but not the folders of my
laptop connected throught a simple lan connection.
-Sharing folders: i enabled the sharing in control center, then tried to
share a folder with konqueror, but it just freezed, after some time (minutes
i think) it come back to life, but the sharing didn't work (wasn't visible
from my laptop, and yes, the network connection is working fine).

If someone need more information on this 2 problems please let me know.

PS: the instaler didn't recognise my 8.1 instalation, i had to change
lilo.conf by hand to make it boot.
