Good Day.
I've just completed installing RC1 on 2 seperate
systems on the same 10/100 network (both connected off the same hub
switch).
These computers have the network setup properly,
using the same subnet mask, with IP's 10.10.140.52 and 65. A very Basic install
has been performed on the server computer consisting of unchecking everything in
the initial selection dialog, specifying no documentation when it prompts, then
selecting nfs-utils package from the tree view.
NFS exports have been setup through linuxconf on
the server, which appear to be working correctly.
Linuxconf is used to create the mount points on the
client computer. (Attempts to browse to the server through MCC unsuccessful in
finding the server). Once linuxconf created the mount points, I returned to
command line and attempted to mount the first NFS share.
Result: It succeeds fine (after about 16-18
seconds). All functionality works perfectly.
Attempt to mount the second share, rpc.mountd
timeout on client.
Attempt to use mounted share. Fail.
Attempt to umount mounted share, Fail, RPC.umount
command timeout on client.
No apparent freezing on the server. No visible
errors in log file. Server log file mentions authenticating the client
repeatedly, however the client timesout.
This is reproduceable time and time
again.
On a related note (I believe), I attempt to use the
NFS install, and it always generates an error on connection (or atleast, I
assume it's generating an error as it does not mount at all).
If anyone has any ideas how I can debug this
problem further I would welcome the suggestion. I have been experiencing this
problem with all the betas and would like to attempt to resolve it.
