Subject: [Cooker] Solution for sound driver on ECS K7S5A and Bug Report
: Xine in R C1 causes disastrous crash on my system

If you first rmmod all sound modules, and then modprobe i810_audio, RC1 will
support the onboard sound on the K7S5A motherboard( Remember to edit
/etc/modules.conf appropriately). Hard drake still will not detect the sound
card however and the installer botches the install, which has to be done
manually as outlined above, I wish these issues could be fixed in future
Mandrakes.
Xine is a disaster in rc1. 8.1 with xine worked fine with my ATI Allin
wonder pci 16mb card. But in RC1 there is a major crash of X the screen goes
black, I can't switch screens to console,I have to do a cold reboot, and RC1
gives failed errors for mounting local filesystems after the cold reboot.
Xine is a major disaster on my system, as installed by the RC1 CDs. On the
bright side the movies sound is load and clear and continues even after the
crash!
