I'm sorry, but this was a bad decision. Period. Release schedule or no
release schedule, this is a showstopper. It's not like a buggy version
of minesweeper - we're talking about oopsing the kernel with something
as widely used (and depended upon in enterprise environments) as Samba
mounts. How can you *possibly* expect business to take you seriously
when you release something like this?

There was plenty of time between the reports and final for this to be
fixed and tested. Not one single Mdk developer ever even replied to the
reports.

Whomever made this decision should have to wear a dunce cap. Stupidity
personified.

Unbelievable.
