I have also tried to do a:
rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep libqt`
rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep kde`
before I did an rpm -ivh kde* libqt*
still have the same problems.
My kde* and libqt* comes from Mandrake 8.2rc1 discs
