There has been a long-standing problem with nfs. Remote nfs mounts if still mounted will prevent shutdown. I do not yet know whether this still exists in 8.2 The fix is to make sure all remote mounts are unmounted before shutdown. Disk Free assists in giving you a good picture in colour of what is mounted at any time. Local mounts are handled correctly at shutdown. -- Ron. [au]
