What did you do, it works perfect for me :(

do:

cd /usr/src/linux-2.4.18.6mdk
make mrproper
make xconfig or whatever you do to create your .conf
make dep
make clean
make bzImage modules
make modules_install
make install

If there is any problem, please send the entire log in private message
to me (I suppose it will be very big).
