Kinda late for the 8.2 release yes, but maybe this can be fixed for the next release.
I just tried to upgrade an 8.1 box here to 8.2. The upgrade complained after package selection that there was not enough space to do the upgrade. It also said 471842437 > - 14518217. I suspect it is trying to tell me how much space I need and how much I have. The message is not at all intuitive. Additionally, this system has / /usr and /var on separate filesystems (all on LVM LVs actually) so I have no idea which filesystem(s) do not have enough space. This situation really needs to be cleaned up in the installer. If one wanted to win brownie points, the installer would recognize that the filesystem(s) that were low on space are on LVs and that they could be extended. :-) It is great that Mandrake support LVM, but actually making use of it would be even better. b. -- Brian J.
