Every DELL monitor I've ever owned gave false info - usually reporting
a much lower dpi than they really are (actually, they exaggerate the
size). My current 17" claims to be a 19", for example, even though the
diagonal measure to the outside corners of the unit doesn't even make
19", never mind the actual screen (which is exactly 17" corner to corner).
So X comes up with 84dpi when it's really 96dpi. How much of a diff that
makes to a user I leave to the user - for me, I don't bother to edit
XF86Config-4 for it, but when I'm in there setting up nvidia, I set the
DisplaySize correctly, if I remember.
