Hi

I installed the mdk 8.2 on a laptop today, and I've been trough some
troubles.
The install works fine, both in recommended and in advanced modes.

The problem comes at first boot.

The boot process stops at :

Partition check :
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0:

I tried removing the devfs option, etc, no way to get it work.

I tried with a personal debian kernel, it booted (without any modules).

Then, i tried with the enterprise mdk kernel (with the initrd stuff
etc), and it booted too. So the default mdk82 kernel has an option that
makes that laptop fail in the boot process...but which one ?

Anyway, the problem isn't at 'why doesn't it work' but it's "it does not
work with that configuration".

As the laptop is not mine, I don't have many informations about it :

All I can do is write down what was written on it. It's a 'maxdata'
laptop.

Laptop informations :

Anyway, it's too bad i couldn't access that laptop during the beta phase
process :(
