Overall it went fine. I got Xfree 4 running and I was finally able to
paly frozen Bubble ;-)
I have Matrox G400 and Sony G200 monitor
I found these minor problems:
-no DDC. monitor was not detected
-when I selected the monitor and went back to video mode selection I was
presented with 640x480 and 800x600 only. I had to select something like
show all to get decent resolution
-there's no support for framebuffer (and no boot splashscreen then)-: In
8.1 I compiled a new kernel whith the framebuffer driver. But on 8.2 I
failed to compile it. I should look into this later. Perhaps creating a
new initrd would help..
