i tried to search
trough the list-archiv
but i didnt find enything about
this seems to be strange for me
becoase i get this problem on
all computers with mandrake
(3 different networks)

when im triing to mount
a remote win9x/nt share
the smbmount command hangs
and ther is sometimes
noway to kill him

and when i trie
to get the contents
of the mounted directory
i get sigsegv in terminal
or a dead konqueror
and strange behavior afterwards
leading to malfunctions in aplications
(rpmdrake, kmail, konqueror ...
not working properly and or
100% cpu usage)

after this
i have to reboot the computer
but ther is no way
to unmount the
"not properly" mounted shares
and i have to reset the computer
which is leading
to filesystem errors :-(

the same happens
with the original samba
(different versions
2.2.2 and above)
from samba.org

after 3 weeks of labouring
a tried the same with debian
and samba 2.2.3
and i got it corectly working
(today i got it working
on some shares in mandrake to
maybe something with
cp 1250 characters in filenames)

this seems to me as a
mandrake bug
(started somewhere
with beta xx
christmas snapshot was okay
i thing)

can enybody help
or can this message
help you in developing mandrake
i can trie to send you
more detailed mesage
and using better english
