You'll have to recompile every app to use KDE3 libs ... and still the question what to do with third-party apps (possibly downloaded off the net). And if let KDE2 libs there remains a question of configuration - there _are_ problems with KDE2 apps using KDE3 config files :( That's said I would be happy to see KDE3 in main and KDE2 in contrib. -andrej
