Thanks for the patch, it does not crash now, although still the popup
menus behave funny in fullscreen mode.
As for the sound, I tried a DVD playback, seems to work perfectly, in
fact the audio-video sync is the best I've seen so far, so that's why I
use it.
I am using SDL for both video and audio backends.

The only remaining glitch is that the gnome-vlc client does not respect
my gtk theme, spitting the following errors:

VideoLAN Client - version 0.3.0 Ourumov - (c) 1996-2002 VideoLAN

gdk_imlib ERROR: Cannot load image:
/usr/share/themes/WhiteBrushed/gtk/normal.xpm
All fallbacks failed.
gdk_imlib ERROR: Cannot load image:
/usr/share/themes/WhiteBrushed/gtk/dark.xpm
All fallbacks failed.
gdk_imlib ERROR: Cannot load image:
/usr/share/themes/WhiteBrushed/gtk/other.xpm
All fallbacks failed.
gdk_imlib ERROR: Cannot load image:
/usr/share/themes/WhiteBrushed/gtk/normal.xpm
All fallbacks failed.

and I do not have pixmaps in widgets. The files (parts of the GTK theme)
are there and are world readable, any other GTK app works OK.
But I guess this is a bug in vlc, not packaging fault.

Thanks again for the patch,

Michal
