Anyway if there weren't people that used them you couldn't use linux at all. Nobody remembers them all. I have to look up things in manpages every day. But the power of the shell is unmatched. You can do and see things much faster than with any point and click interface if you take the time to learn them. But I don't expect anybody to learn the shell.
