I would not have mentioned it if it were not a problem. OOo installs with the libstdc++3.0, but it won't run with a GLIBC that isn't compiled with GCC3.0. I've verified this on 7 separate machines. Try it. Set up an 8.1 box, and install just the updates necessary to satisfy OOo641c's dependencies, then install and try to run. Now install the latest GLIBC 2.2.4 that was released (NOT 2.2.5).
