I doubt your mail got forwarded to /dev/null. In such case the MTA will
just answer to the sender that the user have no more space. It's up to
the sender to resend the message later.

I wouldn't recommand using an infinite value. 

But someone that want to configure Postfix to have a finite value will
probably know how to do it. And the user might not want to see the
problem before correcting it.
