If I only had known about the amixer sillyness..., shit!, damnit!. Well..., 
it's lucky I know the local dealer... As it is now I have the built in sound 
card, the SB128 and audio out from my TV card, six whopping channels ;)

Well..., to round all this up for the next poor soul... Use "amixer" :)

(Right now enjoying the enormous drum sounds of Brian Downey (Thin Lizzy)... 
at that time the trend was to record drums in a tight and dead drum booth, 
leaving the choice of ambience to the listener...)
