An examination of the level 5 shutdown process will show that all the
NFS tasks are taken down _B_E_F_O_R_E_ remote mounts are umounted.
Of course the umount of a remote partition then hangs the machine
indefinately, needing a hard reset and all the file system problems
that causes on the next power up.

It does seem very stupid, and is further evedence not only that
Mandrake developers and QA do not use networking, but that the same
(shock, horror!) is true of kernel developers and QA.
